Know Exactly Which School Catchments Apply

Government schools now show by catchment zone, so you can see exactly which primary, secondary and specialised catchments apply to a property. Toggle catchments in the left-hand planning layers, or check them in the right-hand property panel and property report.

Add Points to Reshape a Drawing, And See Its Angles 

Click on a polygon or line to add points, reshape it or delete it. Turn on the new inner angle display for a property or shape in the Action bar settings, and use clearer fill-versus-stroke colour controls. Measurements can now be hidden per group, rather than globally.

Filter Places of Interest by Radius or Distance 

We've combined the Distance-To and Radius tools on the right-hand side panel into one feature, now called Proximity Analysis. Draw a radius of up to 1km, or set a Distance-To value, to filter Places of Interest by what's actually relevant to a site. Available to Advanced and Enterprise plans. 

Ordering Property Certificates in Victoria Just Got Smoother

You told us re-entering your Order Reference for every additional certificate was a hassle, so we've actioned it. When a Title or Plan is required for your certificate order, your Order Reference now auto-populates. Fewer clicks, quicker orders.

Keep Your Search History Tidy 

Remove individual searches from your history, or clear the whole list in one click. We've also increased the number of saved searches, so a property you searched a week ago is still easy to find.

More Data Updates Across QLD and SA

We've also expanded our underlying data coverage:

• South Australia: Contour data across South Australia is now more detailed, for a sharper read on a site's terrain.
• Gympie Regional: 22 new zones now mapped across the council area.
• Rockhampton: 24 new zones now mapped across the council area.

Collaborate with Your Team on the Same Map

In a shared project, your team can now work on the same map together, whether you're building a target list, consolidating sites, or drawing up a site plan. See every measurement or annotation the moment a teammate adds it. Live cursors and avatars show who's doing what, and edit locking stops anyone overwriting a shape mid-edit.

Use Search Radius to Check What's Happening Around Any Site

Search nearby permits faster using the new search radius under planning permits. This feature is useful for valuation, due diligence checks, or scoping out an area. Every address also gets a clearer timeline and status breakdown on the right-hand side panel. 

Track NSW's Fast-Tracked Housing Approvals

NSW Housing Development Authority (HDA) proposals are now available in your property panel and property reports. See the EOI reference, HDA recommendation, meeting date, Minister's decision, dwelling count and a link to the official briefing for any property, with every proposal shown if a site has more than one.

In New South Wales, Planning Permits are now called Development Applications, and the 10-year limit on permit history has been removed too, for a fuller picture of any site.

Understand Who Lives in an Area, Right on the Map

ABS census data now sits on the map as a colour-coded overlay, covering population, cultural diversity and more, so you can assess whether a site suits family housing, high-density living or something else.

Filter by geographical area, from SA1 to SA4, down to municipality or suburb level, and switch between three census years: 2021, 2016 and 2011.

See How Councils Are Performing on Permits

Permit statistics let you track submissions, approval rates and decision times over a specific date range. Compare a council with up to four others across Australia and pinpoint the busiest and fastest-growing suburbs, giving you a realistic read on approval timeframes before you commit to a project.

Purchase NSW Documents Faster After Your Title Search

On the map, order an NSW title search, then look for the eye icon which appears once your order is complete. Click it to quickly buy a NSW Dealing or 88B Search. A Standard Searches tab is also available, along with a PDF viewer and Buy Now option.

Planning permits and development applications

The planning permit panel has a new look, plus two new filters: VCAT appeal status and category.

VCAT appeal status now shows directly on each planning permit, so you can tell at a glance whether a permit has been appealed — without leaving Landchecker.

Category filters let you narrow results by keywords like subdivision or alterations, so you get to the detail you need faster.

Related documents purchase flow

You can now buy dealings and instruments attached to a title straight from the title record — no separate portal, no extra steps.

Whether you're reviewing easements, encumbrances or historical dealings, select and order the exact document you need in a couple of clicks.

Places of interest (POIs)

Whether you're sourcing a site, pitching a vendor, valuing a property, or doing due diligence, context is everything.

To access it: Open Common Layers on the left-hand menu → toggle on Amenities.

Easily Track Your Order Costs Per Job

You can now receive a billing summary PDF attached to every order delivery email. It's an itemised breakdown of each order (job reference, property, date, and cost), making it easy to reconcile Landchecker orders against your own records or pass costs on to clients.

Finding sites with limited filters meant a lot of manual work just to get to a shortlist.

We listened to your feedback and updated Site Finder with more search criteria and a cleaner interface, so getting the right sites takes less time.

What’s New in Site Finder:

• Additional Location Search — search by SA1 (a smaller geographic area than a suburb) in addition to suburb and municipality for tighter, more targeted results
• Shape & Geometry — filter by lot shape and squareness factor when the physical configuration of a site affects how developable it is
• Topography — filter by slope to rule out sites where the gradient makes development difficult and costly before you spend time on them
• New Save Button — quickly save your site finder results to a Project or the My Searches tab

Control How Planning Layers Appear on the Map

When multiple layers are active, like zones, overlays, hazards and easements, they can start to overlap, making the map harder to read. You can now adjust the opacity of each layer group using the slider in the Planning Layers panel.

Brisbane Neighbourhood Plans and Other Local Plans Are Now Available

Brisbane now includes neighbourhood plans. This data sets character requirements, setbacks, and amenity provisions for specific suburbs and precincts.

We've also added local plans across Queensland, which apply to particular sites or precincts with their own development requirements.

Both are now mapped in Landchecker and accessible in three places:

• Planning Layers panel (left-hand side)
• Property information panel (right-hand side)
• Downloaded property reports

Map style updates

The latest mapbox style has a number of new features including:

• Highways
• Footpaths
• Terrain visualised
• Improved visibility of road names

This along with the ability to increase the thickness of the cadastre makes viewing properties with and without high resolution much easier.

New themes

New branded light and dark themes can now be chosen under your profile menu including:

• Light — the default, clean interface
• Dark — easier on the eyes in low-light settings
• System — automatically follows your device's display settings
• Classic — the original Landchecker map style

User Interface Improvements

We have made a few changes to keep icons consistent and improve mobile experiences including:

• New outlined icons, less obtrusive with subtle contrast to reduce eye strain
• Drag up/down the property panel on mobile to access more of the map when viewing properties.

More data for Victorian properties

Updates to victorian planning data including:

• New geospatial data set for VIC Activity centres, view clearer data on the map.
• See what properties are in the pipeline to be titled with the Victorian proposed cadastre dataset. View on the map, in the property panel and via the address search.
